What We Believe
The gospel, told through the
lives that lived it.
Wayfarer exists for one purpose: to share the good news of Jesus Christ in a way that reaches the heart, not just the mind.
We believe that every person — no matter how gifted, how faithful, how anointed — needs a Saviour. That is the thread running through every story in Wayfarer. David couldn't save himself. Elijah couldn't save himself. Esther couldn't save herself. Neither can we. Without the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, no man, woman, or child can do it on their own.
That is not a footnote in this app. It is the entire point.
Wayfarer's stories are written from the first-person perspective of biblical figures — not because we claim these are their exact words, and not as a translation of Scripture. They are creative, carefully authored narratives grounded in the biblical text, written with two goals in mind:
To inspire faith in troubling times — so that believers can see how the men and women of God handled doubt, grief, fear, anger, and temptation. You are not the first to feel what you feel. They walked it before you.
To point every reader to the cross — because every trial these companions faced, every deliverance they received, every promise they clung to, all of it points forward to the finished work of Christ. That is where every story in Wayfarer leads.
We believe in the triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Everything in Wayfarer is built on that foundation.
Wayfarer is not a replacement for your Bible.
We strongly encourage every reader to open Scripture alongside these stories. The companion narratives are not the infallible words of God — they are written for the purpose of teaching, encouragement, and spiritual growth. Every excerpt is anchored to specific passages so you can read the source text for yourself. Wayfarer is a companion to your Bible study, never a substitute for it.
The companion doesn't just say "I faced Goliath." He says "You can defeat your giants too." That distinction matters to us. These stories are not written as historical lectures. They speak directly to you — because the God who delivered David, who fed Elijah, who strengthened Esther, is the same God who is with you right now.
So be encouraged as you read. Know that your Creator has finished His work on the cross. Now it is up to us to be led by His Holy Spirit, to do His good works, by spreading this good news.
How Wayfarer Began
Wayfarer started with years of personal reflections and prayers written in a notes app — not for anyone to read, just one believer's way of processing Scripture and talking to God. After a season of deep personal loss and sustained faith, those writings became something worth sharing. Every excerpt, prayer, and companion reflection in Wayfarer is carefully authored and reviewed, grounded in Scripture, and shaped by a specific creative vision. Not generated by an algorithm. Every word is intentional.
The name Wayfarer was chosen because we believe we're all on a journey to know Christ. Like the men and women in the Bible, we each carry a story, and a testimony of what the Lord has done.
It is our prayer that these companions meet you where you are — and that through their stories, you encounter the living God who has already met you at the cross.
Gospel-centred
Every story leads to the same truth: we all need a Saviour. The cross is not a subplot in Wayfarer — it is the destination of every companion's journey.
Scripture-first
Every companion story is anchored to specific biblical passages. We encourage readers to open the Bible alongside these narratives. Wayfarer is a companion, not a substitute.
Carefully authored
Every excerpt, prayer, and reflection is personally reviewed and refined. Grounded in Scripture, shaped by a clear creative vision, and written to speak directly to you.
Independent
No venture capital. No board. No ads. Just a Bible app built with conviction, sustained by people who find value in it.
